What Others are sayingWe love Adventures in Reading! Our daughter started the program at the end of 1st grade and has become an avid and voracious reader (typically reading about 8 books through the program per week for leisure). At the close of 3rd grade she is reading at a 7th-8th grade level. The really special thing about this program is that the books she receives each week are specifically tailored to her interests and reading level based on her feedback, while maintaining appropriate content for her age. This is no easy feat and something we, as parents, would have to spend a great deal of time researching and reading to find the right material. We credit the lion's share of her skill and love for reading to Adventures in Reading. Thank you!

One of the highlights of our summer has been to have the books from Adventures in Reading. I can honestly say that thanks to the weekly book deliveries, my daughter has been reading all summer long! I am so happy that reading has become a natural priority in our house and even the younger kids are imitating their older sister. With more free time and more liberty to choose how she wants to fill her day, my daughter has been able to have constant access to books that she knows she is going to like (and that I know are appropriate for her age and reading level). Colleen takes great care in making sure the books are the right fit for my girl and even challenge her a little. My daughter has expanded her interests by trying out books that she normally wouldn’t have chosen on her own. And I haven’t had to go to the library or the bookstore on a weekly basis. We are so happy with this program that we are going to try it with our second child.

Colleen Sullivan's Customized Reading Program was a delight to use, and I would highly recommend it for all readers. Even though my son was already reading at grade level, within a month I could see a sharp improvement in his reading skills, and enthusiasm level for reading. He looked forward to seeing his new selections every week, and for the 1st time opted to take books in the car to read instead of his Nintendo. The rating system for “liking/disliking,” length and complexity was easy to use, and was clearly reflected in the weekly selections. She has definitely put a lot of research into childhood reading development skills.
